| Luther was long gone when I discovered him. His music is powerful and is frequently played on my blues radio show. Luther's music led me to discover the blues. I constantly discover other blues artists but none replace Luther. He is my one of my favorite artists. |

| It´s just good to hear all these amazing stories about Luther in this Guestbook. I saw Luther once - April 20. 1996 in Odense, Denmark - it was just fantastic - he played as usual 3 hours and had a great band with him - including memphis horns and french bass player ZOX. My best concert memory ever !

| I was Luther's busdriver with the european tour in '96 and he will always be in my hart. When I am sad I listen to Luther's Bleus, Hand me down my moonshine, and it really helps me to go on with my live. God bless his soul. I wil never forget him. Robert |

| I have recently discovered the blues and I am completely taken! Luther Allison took the genre to new levels, a truly gifted artist. As a 23 year old, I missed the Blues era, and it’s a shame that the blues are not recognised any longer. Allison's music really connects, full of passion and verve. If there is any performer who deserves more recognition it is Luther - great voice, great musician, he completely deserves the accolade of ‘king of contemporary blues’. fab site, i've discovered more about Allison and his music! |

| As 20 year old, I have wonderful memories of watching Luther perform at the December, 1968 "promotional" concert in Ann Arbor ... at the University of Michigan Student Union. He brought the Union down that night ... and did it again in front of 60,000 fans at the first Ann Arbor Blues festival in the summer of 1969. I was involved in the planning and advertising of that festival, and had the pleasure of meeting Luther, after the Saturday night performance, at a party on campus. In addition to his matchless musicianship, showmanship and energy, he was a gentleman, a professional, and a truly balanced human being. |

| I saw Luther back in the early 80s in Ann Arbor, at a small bar called Rick's. I didn't realize what I had witnessed then. Absolutely high energy beauty. I lost him, then found him again about a month ago. I am so glad I did.

| I first met and saw Luther in Memphis and he was the most inspirational musician I've every seen. Turns out he was that kind of man, too. He changed my life in ways I can't even describe. No other person so gifted has the world known, loved, and lost. |

| JP is right: "wish it was tommorow" Every 12th of august ist a bad day. The last nine years I've seen some concerts - really good music; people, who know to use their instruments. But nobody could take me to "his world". I guess for these two or three houers of an concert Mr. Luther Allison could "leave his ego" and - kind and gentle as he was - he took us with to that "music planet" he went to. God bless you, Luther! We will "kick as right on" on earth, even when "life is a bitch". See you some day! Joerg |

| Hello to all of you Luther Lovers,
I first met Luther in the early 80's when I was bartending at a club in Door County, Wis. When Luther came to town to play at The Omnibus we could count on the place getting filled to beyond the fire code capacity, but that was ok cause the fire chief would be there too. The excitement and energy would slowly build as the people would show up for the show, but wait why did everyone have lawn chairs in the back of their trucks? (more on that in a minute)
Obviously Luther would rock the house and at bar time, which was 3:30 am on Saturdays, we would have to turn off the power (what a sin) because Luther and the band "WOULD NOT STOP PLAYING" Then he would unplug his guitar and climb on top of the loft on top of the bar and keep on keepin on.
After we would convince "The Man" to come down he would jump from the loft to the bar and out the door. Everyone would follow like The Pied Piper where we would line up the lawn chairs enjoy his 4th or 5th or 6th encore. He would play until the sun came up. What a fantastic memory that is. Even if it did not happen every time he played for us at "The Bus" he was a man like no other.
The truest example of "Leave your ego, Play the music, Love the people."

| I met Luther in the early 80's at the Soup Kitchen Saloon in Detroit. We shared some very special times that I will always cherish. He was a sweet sweet man and I loved to watch and hear him sing because it came from his soul. I miss him. |

| I've been listening avidly to the blues for almost 40 years now and in my opinion, Luther was one of the very best of all the electric blues guitarists ever. Son Seals, Albert & Freddie King and are in good company now. What a jam session they must put on (up there)!! |
