Difficult to tell you about my favourite live song.
I like "I just came back to say goodbye" because it is live so much better than on the CD. Than I love the long slide guitar tunes but my all time favourite is "don't be confused". The best version was 1998 in Cologne/Germany. BA started solo with the accoustic guitar, later on the band took over.
GREAT!!!

Hi BA fans!
The management of BA announced that BA will be again in Europe this year.
On www.tournado.de I found the following:
Festivalperiode Sommer: 24.06.- 11.07.2004 und Clubtour EU: 21.10. -14.11.2004 Tourneen in Vorbereitung.
So check out for the dates in detail. Maybe it's time for the first BA-FF meeting at a concert.
Happy easter, Hein

Thread: CD tip - Robert Randolph |
|
|
Hi folks outside in the world.
When you heared all BA's and Luther's CDs and you need some variety, then try Robert Randolph & the family band. The new (and more or less the first) CD "unclassified" is great. Like the name says, it's a mix containing soul, blues, funk. Robert Randolph was nominated last year for the "best new artist debut" at the W.C. Handy Award.
He's now on tour with Eric Clapton, to start Eric's shows.
Check it out, you will have fun

Thread: Luther song for next CD |

Hi Petra,
nice choice.
One or two songs with accoustic guitar like castle would be great. BA playing slide guitar on "i believe in you" would be a pleasure. He's a great slide guitar player.
The new CD should contain:
- accoustic guitar songs
- slide guitar songs
- real BA songs, composed by himself
- at least one Luther song (we are speaking about it)
Let's hope

Hi Petra,
good question.
When I hear BA's FUNKIFINO would like to hear BA playing with musicans from complete other music styles. He could invite Maceo Parker on sax, Poogie Bell on drums and Marcus Miller on bass for some funky songs. This could be cool music.
I am looking forward to this project.

Hi,
after his current tour BA will record a new CD. I'am sure he will record again at least one song from Luther. Here are my suggestions:
- Serious
- Let's try it again
- Freedom
- Put the money where your mouth is
Other ideas?

Thread: What BA should play on stage!!! |
|
|
Hi folks,
first of all, I am a big fan from BA!! I saw 7 shows in the last seven years. But I am not completly happy about BA's program.
In the last 3 or 4 years he plays more or less the same program. It's great but I would prefer more of his own songs and some changes every year. If he plays 2,5 hours he could play one hour his standard program: Luther medley (bad love, life is a bitch, midnight creeper), tin pan alley, voodo child, just came back to say goodby and so on. The other time he should play more songs from his CDs. I've heard few songs from "storms of life" since the CD is out. BA plays great on the accoustic guitar, he should integrate this in the show. There are enough BA songs to perform and he did other great songs from Luther. Why not changing the medley, midnight creeper is not my favourite without a horn section.
What's the opinion of the other fans?
And don't mistake me for that, I am just a young boy....

It would be nice to have a chance to ask questions to BA. I know there is an offical Guestbook on bernardallison.com but I think many fans have got the same questions. Perhaps we could gather the most frequently asked questions to BA in this forum. On a regulary basis you can send the questons to BA and post the replies here.

Good question. I started my guitar playing three month ago, but I am very interested in chords and lyrics of BA's and Luther's songs. Is there any material avaiable? Songbooks or anything else.
On the net I still haven't found anything.

Hi Wolfgang,
since Wetzlar I know your name and your face. Thanks' for the way to this forum. I agrre that you can have fun likely everywhere with BA, but I was afraid that only 20 people came to the show. I am not sure, whether BA would have fun playing in front of 20 people.
I am looking forawar to the new CD but I wonder what style it will have. Let's see. By the way. In 2003 I saw BA in Hannover's Bluesgarage, this was a funny location. It was like Bob's Country Bunker in the first Blues Brothers Movie. Again a great show!
have fun in CH, cu

Thanks for the link to the interview. It was very interessting (for Germans!). It was new for me, that BA and Prince are friends. Perhaps it would be an good idea to have an interview/media/press section on the ba-ff.com site to gather information about BA.

Thread: Your favourite CD? |

I bought storms of life from JPC in 2002 and the CD is absolutly ok. No problem with the sound. I am looking forward to the new CD this summer, because I have every CD from BA and I need more musich from him. Beside the new studio CD I would like to have a live CD with a whole BA concert. Not only 60 minutes on the Kentucky CD....
By the way, my favourite CD is "times are changing" and my favourite song is "don't be confused".

Hi Petra.
You're right, it was again a great show. I also wondered, why there was no break. Was this a decision of the band? In the last years Bernard always made a break. I would prefer ab break to rest down for a while, get a cold drink and look forward to the second half.
I love Bernard's music and I enjoyed the evening, but sometimes I would prefer, that Bernard play more of his own songs. The program of the show is more or less the same in the last 4 years. It' a great show, don't misunderstand me, but a change of the program would be fine. Perhaps next year, he will play songs from the upcoming CD.
Take care
